The projection cylinder in use shows a highly accurate and realistic view of the nighttime sky. Three thousand stars, some in color, are represented, down to magnitude of 5.5. This is very close to the visual limit for most observers. The Milky Way is shown in all its splendor. The apparent positions of the Sun can be shown over the course of a year and the phases of the Moon over its monthly cycle.
